and corporate experts to share best practices for implementing IT technology
for use in employee engagement in CSR/sustainability on August 18.
PALO
ALTO, California, August 2, 2011 – On Thursday, August 18 at 11:00 a.m. Pacific
/ 2:00 p.m. Eastern, AltaTerra will present the online briefing "Leading
Employee Practices for Sustainability: Information Tools for Managing
Engagement.” The briefing is the second in a three-part series on employee
practices for sustainability. CSR and
engineering experts from Arup and Centrica PLC will address new IT solutions on
how they inform employees and manage programs around environmental
sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
Corporations
are always looking for new technology tools to aid their business strategy and
operations. Environmental and social responsibility strategy, goals and
programs are no different. Companies are exploring new ways to show data on a
real time basis in order to better inform employees through transparent data.
This includes the use of dashboard technologies and software tools to track
resource use and pollution. The software tools are also being used to manage
corporate social responsibility programs such as volunteering.
In
this 90-minute interactive online briefing, AltaTerra Senior Analyst, Jackie
Pitera will discuss highlights from the Emerging Technology Brief on Software
Solutions for Engaging Employees in Sustainability including background on
corporate engagement strategy.
Andrew Rhodes, Project Engineer
at Arup, a global engineering services
firm, will describe their employee sustainability engagement program and their
use of a leading-edge building energy dashboard tool, implementation
challenges, lessons learned, and results to date.
Briana Whitlock, Corporate Responsibility
Officer at Centrica plc., will
describe their community investment program in context of their larger employee
sustainability engagement program, how they manage their program on a
day-to-day basis, why they are using a software tool from Enablon to aid in
operational program management, challenges and lessons learned.
"So many people are online all the time these
days using social media and other IT tools. It makes sense that if your
workforce is technology oriented that you would use IT solutions to help engage
your workforce in sustainability and to manage your volunteering and engagement
programs,” said Jaclyn Pitera.
