Solar visionary, Jigar Shah, will join AltaTerra
Research and RenewableEnergyWorld.com on September 23 to discuss the current
state of the U.S. solar industry and where he sees the industry heading in 2011
and beyond, in a national and international online conference.
PALO ALTO, California, August 31st, 2010 -- AltaTerra Research is pleased
to announce the online conference, "The Future of the Solar Industry: 2010
and Beyond" to be held Thursday, September 23 at 11:00 am Pacific / 2:00
pm Eastern.
Despite being only the fourth largest solar market in
2009, the United States is expected by many to emerge as the premier solar
market within the next decade. As the
U.S. solar industry continues to expand and mature, it has seen the evolution of
innovative project financing models, competition between different solar
technologies, and rapid change in the legislative and regulatory climate.
In this online executive briefing, solar luminary Jigar
Shah will discuss how the U.S. solar industry is developing and what he sees in
store for the future. Mr. Shah will cover
a wide variety of topics including the
future of project finance and PPAs in 2011, solar module prices in 2011, the
role of new technologies, the latest on microinverters and other technologies, and
legislative and regulatory challenges in 2011.
Mr. Shah will also deliver his predictions on what solar technologies
will dominate the market in the future.
"Jigar Shah is a pioneer of the solar industry. He helped to develop the idea of solar as a
service and solar power purchase agreements, which are the dominant project
financing mechanism today. Mr. Shah has previously made bold predictions about
the industry and seen those predictions come to fruition," said Jon Guice,
moderator of the online conference. "We are excited to have Mr. Shah
discuss what he sees in store for the industry in the future."
RenewableEnergyWorld.com editor Stephen Lacey will be
speaking as well, drawing on his wide knowledge of solar market players and
trends as discussant. Jon Guice, managing director of research at AltaTerra,
will moderate an extended period of Q&A where participants will be given
the chance to engage Mr. Shah's expertise and knowledge of the industry.
